Playing Your Professional Golf
There have been many well-known people regarded for their contributions to completely different sports. Numerous names that can be found from mind include, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Venus Williams, Jerry Rice, David Beckham, Lance Armstrong, Cal Ripkin JR., Wayne Gretzky, miracle Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Troy Aikman, Larry Bird, Babe Ruth, Muhammed Ali, and several others. Some sports activities experts are much better famous than others.
Most people who like cheap golf clubs recognize famous athletes from the National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Football League (NFL), and the Major League Baseball (MLB) because those sports are more popular to watch and people are more familiar with them. Famous stars from the Major League Soccer (MLS), National Hockey League (NHL), and the World Boxing Association (WBA) are not as easily recognized because those sports just aren't as popular to watch. But because he is so good in his sport, Jack William Nicklaus is known all over the country as a great American professional golfer. He was born on January 21, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio and was known as the Golden Bear. Winning eighteen major championships, he ranked as the world's number one man from 1968 to 1977. Besides all of those wins, he also won seven professional major titles and several other victories. He always finished in either first or second place thirty-six times in the twenty-five years with one hundred major championship games played. Along with players such as, Nick Faldo, Tom Kite, Nick Price, Payne Stewart, and Curtis Strange, Jack proved that he was one of the greatest golfers in the sport ever. This time period when he played was the most competitive time in the whole history of the sport. His final appearances took place in 2005 at the Open Championship and the Masters Tournament.
Since then, he has been involved with many other types of activities. He does a lot of charitable work, book writing, magazine article contributions, video productions, Titleist Golf Clubs and having his own tournament on the PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) Tour which is known as the Memorial Tournament. He runs a very successful golf course design company and it has grown to one of the largest in the world. His writing includes an autobiography called "Golf My Way" and several instructional books on how to play. Born to a pharmacist, he grew up in Arlington. He got polio as a kid and started golfing when he was only ten years old. He entered the Ohio State Junior Competition when he was twelve years old and won five straight titles. When he was only sixteen years old, he entered his first United States Amateur Championship where he set an amateur course record. He then won the Ohio Open at the same age where he competed against many other professional players. He attended Ohio State University and won a couple amateur titles and a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) title as well. His professional career began on the PGA tour in 1962 after officially turning professional in 1961. Competing against Arnold Palmer who was also a great player with taylormade r9 fairway wood, Jack Nicklaus defeated him and started the Palmer-Nicklaus rivalry. This caused many people to tune in and watch them in tournaments on the newly invented television. There was a famous quotation that compared Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. It says, "When God created Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, He turned to Nicklaus and said: ‘you will be the greatest the game has ever seen.' Then He turned to Palmer, adding: ‘but they will love you more.' His grandson Jake had died in early March of 2005 and played with his son Steve as therapy for getting over it.
Steve informed his father that he really should hold out on last time from the Masters generally because at age sixty-five, it absolutely was the last yr that he could qualify and compete from the tournament. Jack Nicklaus agreed and founded his last visual appeal on this huge tournament that was done at St Andrews on July 15, 2005. He ended his occupation owning a birdie and been given a 10 moment in time standing ovation away from your crowd on the tournament which ended up getting his last aggressive tournament he was to hold out in.

UNIFIED MINISTRIES: PRAY $5.95 UNIFIED MINISTRIES: PRAY |

What Would Jesus Do With A 9mm Glock?
As legislators struggle with the effectiveness and human dignity issues surrounding lifetime sex offender registries that, under the Adam Walsh Act, would run the gamut of 189 categories from pedophilia to urinating on the sidewalk, there emerges a contingent of leaders pushing for harsher distinctions.
In a word, these leaders seem to love registries that not only make permanent the exile status of offenders of many types but remove whole families from the forgiveness loop.
What List Are You On?:
Several weeks ago, I published an article, "What List Are You On?" With tongue in cheek, I referenced the 800,000 or more nationwide who are presently on the sex registry. I poked fun at a bill before the Maine legislature, LD 760, "An Act to Establish an Animal Abuser Registry."
I suggested that if these registries continue to develop and grow, they will serve 2 purposes - to give those on registries political voice and to give those of us not on registries a feeling of moral superiority masked as public safety. One consideration might be to merge the registries and create a PAC.
Drunk Driver Offender List:
Along comes the latest list - a website that would permit Mainers to see if any of their neighbors were convicted drunken drivers. It would include names, addresses and pictures.
This is the brainchild of Rep. Richard Cebra (R-Naples), whose bills this session have included an act to allow concealed weapons in the State House, an act to nullify Federal laws (states' rights advocacy) and an act to require people who register to vote to provide proof of citizenship, a takeoff from the "birther" movement.
Mal Leary of Capital News Service quoted Cebra as saying, "People need to know about drunk drivers that might be living next door and taking their kids to soccer practice." Whether you are left wing or right wing, it seems always to be about the safety of latchkey kids.
Religious Twist:
I served with Rich on the Joint Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. He seemed like a pretty nice guy. I wondered what happened to him that he suddenly wants to make lists and bring a gun to the State House presumably to shoot sex offenders, animal abusers, respectable drunks and liberals with or without full citizenship. It struck me that there might be a religious twist in there somewhere.
A quick Googling of Rep. Cebra, and I found that he is a member of the Windham Assembly of God, although his religion is listed as "Lake Region Vineyard Church." On the surface, there didn't seem to be much of interest there.
Further digging, however, uncovered what appears to be a startup Vineyard church in Naples, affiliated with the Vineyard USA denomination. Taking a look at the beliefs of Vineyard USA uncovered some interesting information.
"Culturally Relevant Mission":
Prominent is the statement of their "culturally relevant mission." It describes an on-going dialogue that determines whether they are going to be a "…small set of backwater, culturally-irrelevant churches or a community of churches that really do make a difference in the world."
As pastor of one of those backwater, culturally-irrelevant churches, it occurred to me that I may, like Jesus, be a candidate for another one of those special lists of marginal people.
What I found next was much more interesting, however:
"We lean toward the lost, the poor, the outcast, and the outsider with the compassion of Jesus, knowing we are sinners whose standing before God is utterly dependent on his mercy. This mercy can only be truly received inasmuch as we are willing to give it away…We believe that ministry in Jesus' name should be expressed in concrete ways through the local church. The poor are to be served as though we serve Jesus himself. This is one of the distinguishing characteristics of a church expressing the love of Christ in a local community."
I got it! In order to minister to the poor, the outcast and the outsider, you have to be able to find them! What better way than with a list or an obituary that identifies the loved ones of those shot in the lobby of the State House?
If only Jesus had had a 9mm Glock!

Ways That You Can Help Yourself To Be Yourself
By the end of this article, I hope to persuade you that the individual's personal development is best served outside the confines of any organisation to which they may belong.
We're informed that no two snowflakes are the same. When I tried to prove otherwise, the light fluffy snow melted in my hand before I could examine the details. Maybe you'll have to have an open mind or accepted it as true. Is it something you can prove? To remove a snowflake from Everest and compare it with the snow on the French Alps seems so impossible.
We are told that no two human beings are the same. There are body and stunt doubles who are similar in appearance but what about other qualities? We are called individuals because that's what we are. If you took identical twins and locked them in a room together their individuality will be evident in their different opinions, even though they've shared so many common experiences from birth.
We know that no two footballers are the same. Footballers with exceptional individual talent sometimes feel they are restricted by their club's rules. Wealthy soccer stars believe that their money lifts them above the club and they strive to be completely individual, both on and off the pitch. Club managers argue that no one player is above the club, so there is conflict.
We know that no two published books are identical. From all books that are published, you will not find two identical books by two different authors. It is impossible for two writers to write the same text word for word or full stop for full stop. Even non-fiction books written on the same subject by more than one author, express a different point of view. Recognised facts are challenged because everyone is entitled to an opinion. Some people still accept that the earth is flat.
We believe that no two self help organisational groups are the same. Some argue that organisations suppress the individual's quest for individuality within the group. The group imposes a set of rules to facilitate a common experience for all members. I have heard it said that an organisation is just the first step up on the stairway to knowing yourself.
The more you understand about yourself, the more relaxed you become. You may have found an organisation that helps you, but one set of rules that fits all may inhibit your own development. The best advice is to join an organisation where your own individual opinions are accepted and do not attach yourself to a group where you have to change your own thinking to that of the established organisation.
Does this prove my case? In a Sunday paper (March 2006), there was a report of a Benedictine monk who jumped from a second floor balcony to his death. He had devoted his whole life to the Church but after reading a book, it highlighted the uncertainties about his faith. He was tormented.
When individual's personal development grows outside the organisation's box, it's time to move on. The monk had obviously been pulled back inside so often by external pressures that he had reached a place of extreme turmoil. His individual thinking failed to allow him to reach out towards the next step in his development.
The crystal globe of truth rested on the town's walls for all to see. One day during a gale, it crashed to the ground. The townsfolk stampeded to spot. Several individuals picked up fragments, holding them up to reflect the light.
Each claimed that they had the truth. Maybe there a little bit of the truth scattered in all organisations and in all personal development information. Perhaps no one is the guardian of the whole truth.
So your search may be never ending. Exercise your freedom of choice to permit your own individuality to be recognised within a group and where you may be your own brilliant self. To supplement this quest, self-help information may build into an extensive personal library. I know mine has.
In summary, the organisation to which you belong must be compatible to your own individual opinions. You should find the truth no matter who holds it, but you have to be an individual to enjoy this freedom of thinking.
