Playing Your Professional Golf

There have been many well-known people regarded for their contributions to completely different sports. Numerous names that can be found from mind include, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Venus Williams, Jerry Rice, David Beckham, Lance Armstrong, Cal Ripkin JR., Wayne Gretzky, miracle Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Troy Aikman, Larry Bird, Babe Ruth, Muhammed Ali, and several others. Some sports activities experts are much better famous than others.

Most people who like cheap golf clubs recognize famous athletes from the National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Football League (NFL), and the Major League Baseball (MLB) because those sports are more popular to watch and people are more familiar with them. Famous stars from the Major League Soccer (MLS), National Hockey League (NHL), and the World Boxing Association (WBA) are not as easily recognized because those sports just aren't as popular to watch. But because he is so good in his sport, Jack William Nicklaus is known all over the country as a great American professional golfer. He was born on January 21, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio and was known as the Golden Bear. Winning eighteen major championships, he ranked as the world's number one man from 1968 to 1977. Besides all of those wins, he also won seven professional major titles and several other victories. He always finished in either first or second place thirty-six times in the twenty-five years with one hundred major championship games played. Along with players such as, Nick Faldo, Tom Kite, Nick Price, Payne Stewart, and Curtis Strange, Jack proved that he was one of the greatest golfers in the sport ever. This time period when he played was the most competitive time in the whole history of the sport. His final appearances took place in 2005 at the Open Championship and the Masters Tournament.

Since then, he has been involved with many other types of activities. He does a lot of charitable work, book writing, magazine article contributions, video productions, Titleist Golf Clubs and having his own tournament on the PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) Tour which is known as the Memorial Tournament. He runs a very successful golf course design company and it has grown to one of the largest in the world. His writing includes an autobiography called "Golf My Way" and several instructional books on how to play. Born to a pharmacist, he grew up in Arlington. He got polio as a kid and started golfing when he was only ten years old. He entered the Ohio State Junior Competition when he was twelve years old and won five straight titles. When he was only sixteen years old, he entered his first United States Amateur Championship where he set an amateur course record. He then won the Ohio Open at the same age where he competed against many other professional players. He attended Ohio State University and won a couple amateur titles and a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) title as well. His professional career began on the PGA tour in 1962 after officially turning professional in 1961. Competing against Arnold Palmer who was also a great player with taylormade r9 fairway wood, Jack Nicklaus defeated him and started the Palmer-Nicklaus rivalry. This caused many people to tune in and watch them in tournaments on the newly invented television. There was a famous quotation that compared Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. It says, "When God created Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, He turned to Nicklaus and said: ‘you will be the greatest the game has ever seen.' Then He turned to Palmer, adding: ‘but they will love you more.' His grandson Jake had died in early March of 2005 and played with his son Steve as therapy for getting over it.

Steve informed his father that he really should hold out on last time from the Masters generally because at age sixty-five, it absolutely was the last yr that he could qualify and compete from the tournament. Jack Nicklaus agreed and founded his last visual appeal on this huge tournament that was done at St Andrews on July 15, 2005. He ended his occupation owning a birdie and been given a 10 moment in time standing ovation away from your crowd on the tournament which ended up getting his last aggressive tournament he was to hold out in.
